Il Fornaio Seattle invites you to lift your glass in cheer to enjoy a delicious, wine-paired meal featuring beloved wine expert Vito Montanarelli of Gioia Wine Imports, who will share his favorite Italian wines from Piemonte. This Northwestern corner of Italy is best known for its Barolo and Barbaresco, made from the Nebbiolo grape, and Asti Spumante, a sparking wine made from the Moscato grape. Sip Piemonte’s best, paired thoughtfully with five courses of authentic Italian fare by Il Fornaio Chef-Partner Franz Junga.

The third Thursday monthly wine tasting on Oct. 21 brings Rodrigo Redmont from Cantine Talamonti wines of Abruzzo, Italy. Enjoy special selections (from a crisp Trebbiano to the beloved red, ModA’) alongside delicious Il Fornaio antipasti from Chef-Partner Franz Junga. $10 per person. Parties that Cook

Sizzle and Swirl Cooking Class at Efeste Winery  – Oct. 16, 7- 9 p.m.

 

At this exciting, hands-on cooking party, guests are welcomed, given an introductory cooking lesson, and broken into cooking teams. Each team collaborates on a given recipe from the evening's tapas menu while sipping wine and listening to upbeat music. The group then savors the fruits of their labor for a delicious finish. After the event, copies of the recipes, digital photos, and e-mail address aliases are sent to the group. No cooking experience is required.

 

Tickets are $95 per person, which includes wine-tasting, professional instruction using the finest, fresh ingredients, follow-up recipes and the post-instruction opportunity to communicate with your fellow cooking classmates.
