Metropolitan Market is cooking up improvements to the Proctor store

Metropolitan Market’s Tacoma Location Begins Six-Phase, Six Month Remodel

Seattle, WA — Metropolitan Market will begin remodeling its Proctor store, located at 2420 Proctor Street, in Tacoma, April 7th. Every inch of the store is getting updated, both inside and out, including some new departments. The newly remodeled store will offer a new bakery, a larger, more expansive wine department, gleaming new meat and seafood departments, a new and expanded cheese department, an expanded soup bar and sauté station, a new salad bar, a larger olive and antipasto bar, and much more. The project will be completed this fall, and will commence with a grand re-opening celebration in October.

The remodel will take place in six phases. This allows the store to be open as usual during the remodel, and to offer all the products and services customers have come to expect with minimal disruption.

“Our loyal customers have been part of planning this remodel for many years, and we are excited to give them a better experience,” said Kelly Heinzinger, the Store Director of Metropolitan Market in Proctor. “During the remodel period we’re going to remain open, and have tried to think of just about everything to make sure they have the best possible shopping trip.”

The redesign will result in a fresh store, with more space that will be easier to shop and explore. While offering more new flavors and fresh ideas, the store will maintain its character from the first opening in 1995.
