The Holiday Spirit Soars at Sky View Observatory

Seattle’s Highest Observatory Offers Spectacular Views for the Season

For Immediate Release
December 4, 2013

Seattle, Washington—The 2013 Holiday Season soars to new heights thanks to the Sky View Observatory, located on Floor 73 of the Columbia Center at 701 Fifth Avenue.

Centrally located in the heart of Seattle’s downtown, the Columbia Center is pleased to announce that the fully renovated and upgraded SVO will be decorated and open throughout the season. The tallest public observatory in the city and offering unprecedented 360 views of the region, SVO is without a doubt the best place to dazzle your festive mood and see Seattle in all its festive fanfare.  The building will be trimmed with trees and boughs of greenery and the SVO will be discretely decorated with touches of mistletoe, making it the highest place in the city to kiss your mischievous elf or even pop the “will you marry me” question!

Of course, holiday lights throughout the city will be easily viewable from the spacious observatory and visitors to Seattle will find that it is an enchanting way to view the many boats and marine vessels that are prancing their colorful and brilliant lights during the Seattle Christmas Ship Parade—one of the city’s longstanding holiday traditions.

Lynda Collie, the General Manager of Columbia Center says, “Sky View Observatory is a great addition to Seattle’s already amazing seasonal celebration.  We are delighted to be a part of Downtown Seattle Association’s celebration. When it comes to the holidays, everyone here at Columbia Center knows that the sky’s the limit.”
